Yuán lái yīng guó yǔ tái wān de jiāo yǒu fāng shì dà bù tóng?
Měi gè guó jiā dōu yǒu shǔ yú zì jǐ de wén huà yǔ jìn jì, ruò méi yǒu shì xiān liǎo jiě, dào dāng dì yǒu kě néng mào fàn bié rén, jīn tiān xiǎng dài dà jiā kàn kàn tái wān yǔ yīng guó de shè jiāo mó shì.
Jí shǐ cóng xiǎo dào dà shēng zhǎng zài tái wān, dàn bù dé bù shuō yǒu shí hòu dào tái wān qí tā chéng shì lǚ yóu shí, zhēn de huì bèi dāng dì rén de rè qíng gǎn dòng, nà me yě bù nán lǐ jiě wèi shé me xǔ duō wài guó rén duì tái wān de yìn xiàng shì dūn hòu yǔ rè qíng; dàn dāng wǒ men jiāng zhè fèn rè qíng dài dào yīng guó, sì hū hěn nán jiāo dào péng yǒu.
Dà xué de shè jiāo quān hé gāo zhōng bǐ qǐ lái guǎng kuò hěn duō, měi tiān dōu huì jiàn dào bù tóng de rén, què fā xiàn yǔ qí tā guó jiā de rén xiāng bǐ yīng guó rén bù shì hěn zhǔ dòng.

Do British socialise differently than Taiwanese?
As every country has its own culture and taboos, it is easy to offend local people if you do not learn about their norms in advance. Today, I would like to introduce how British people socialise differently than Taiwanese.
In spite of growing up in Taiwan, I am sometimes moved by Taiwanese people’s passion when traveling to other parts of the nation, which explains why hospitability and sincerity are the first impression of Taiwan for many foreigners; however, it might be hard for Taiwanese to make friends when they bring the enthusiasm to the UK.
The social circle in university is much wider than in high school. Meeting different people is part of my university life, but it is not difficult to realise that British is more passive compared with people from other parts of the world. For example, there is a girl who went to the same classes with me, but we had never spoken until we met at our mutual friend’s birthday party.
Additionally, the topics that people talk about when they first meet are also quite different. In Taiwan, occupation, salary or relationship status are what most Taiwanese people talk about when they first meet; nevertheless, these topics are a taboo for British people. After living in the UK for a while, I find out that “weather” is how British people begins a conversation and use it to extend to other topics.
It is vital to be familiar with the local lifestyle of a place, which not only help us adapt to the new environment but also reduce the conflicts with local people.
