Tái wān rén zài yīng guó xué zhōng wén
西班牙文和法文一直以来是英国受欢迎的第二外语学习。近年来，英国政府已开始推动学习中文的政策，英国家长也普遍认为中文对孩子的未来有一定的帮助，所以越来越多学校开设中文课程。
Xī bān yá wén hé fǎ wén yī zhí yǐ lái shì yīng guó shòu huān yíng de dì èr wài yǔ xué xí. Jìn nián lái, yīng guó zhèng fǔ yǐ kāi shǐ tuī dòng xué xí zhōng wén de zhèng cè, yīng guó jiā zhǎng yě pǔ biàn rèn wéi zhōng wén duì hái zi de wèi lái yǒu yī dìng de bāng zhù, suǒ yǐ yuè lái yuè duō xué xiào kāi shè zhōng wén kè chéng.
高中读A level时修了中文课，很多人好奇为什么一位母语者还要修这门课呢?当时的原因仅仅是想多一份好看的成绩单。印象中，台湾的国文课大多是默写文言文、背诵注释，没想到在英国上中文课主要是以阅读时事文章并分享自己的想法为主。另外，中文口说也是课程内容之一，其实在大部分台湾人的印象中，似乎从没有中文口说课，所以即使每天说中文，但如何有逻辑性的说出中文便成了挑战。从上课的角度来看，不难发现英国教育真的很重视批判性思考能力。
Gāo zhōng dú A level shí xiū le zhōng wén kè, hěn duō rén hào qí wèi shé me yī wèi mǔ yǔ zhě hái yào xiū zhè mén kè ne? Dāng shí de yuán yīn jǐn jǐn shì xiǎng duō yī fèn hǎo kàn de chéng jī dān. Yìn xiàng zhōng, tái wān de guó wén kè dà duō shì mò xiě wén yán wén, bèi sòng zhù shì, méi xiǎng dào zài yīng guó shàng zhōng wén kè zhǔ yào shì yǐ yuè dú shí shì wén zhāng bìng fēn xiǎng zì jǐ de xiǎng fǎ wéi zhǔ. Lìng wài, zhōng wén kǒu shuō yě shì kè chéng nèi róng zhī yī, qí shí zài dà bù fèn tái wān rén de yìn xiàng zhōng, sì hū cóng méi yǒu zhōng wén kǒu shuō kè, suǒ yǐ jí shǐ měi tiān shuō zhōng wén, dàn rú hé yǒu luó jí xìng de shuō chū zhōng wén biàn chéng le tiǎo zhàn. Cóng shàng kè de jiǎo dù lái kàn, bù nán fā xiàn yīng guó jiào yù zhēn de hěn zhòng shì pī pàn xìng sī kǎo néng lì.
中文课正式开始前，已有整整两年没有写过中文。时间看似不长，换来的却是错别字的增加，字迹也不再工整了。现在回想，其实修这门课不单单是为了成绩更是保持自己母语的流利度。
Zhōng wén kè zhèng shì kāi shǐ qián, yǐ yǒu zhěng zhěng liǎng nián méi yǒu xiě guò zhōng wén. Shí jiān kàn sì bù cháng, huàn lái de què shì cuò bié zì de zēng jiā, zì jī yě bù zài gōng zhěng le. Xiàn zài huí xiǎng, qí shí xiū zhè mén kè bù dān dān shì wèi le chéng jī gèng shì bǎo chí zì jǐ mǔ yǔ de liú lì dù.

Taiwanese learning Chinese in the UK
Spanish and French have always been the popular foreign languages in the UK. In recent years, the UK government has begun to promote Chinese learning, and British parents generally believe that Chinese will certainly help their children in the future. Thus, there are more and more Chinese courses in British schools.
I also took Chinese in A level. Many people are curious why I, a Taiwanese, would choose to take Chinese lessons. At first, it was just because I wanted a good grade on my certificate.
Most of the Chinese classes for native speakers in Taiwan focus on reciting classical Chinese readings or memorising the annotations; however, the Chinese lessons in the UK are more about reading articles on current events around the world and sharing your opinions. In fact, speaking is an important element of the lesson. On the other hand, there was little chance to practice speaking in my Chinese lessons in Taiwan. Therefore, despite having been speaking Chinese every day, how to speak Chinese in a logical way becomes a challenge. When looking at the teaching methodology of the UK, it is not difficult to see that British education puts more attention on critical thinking.
Before taking the Chinese lessons, it had been two years since I last wrote in Chinese. It seems to be a short time, but I actually kept writing the characters wrong and my writing was no longer neat. Looking back now, taking this class is not just for the grade, but also for maintaining my fluency of the language.
