Reflect on Past Successes
‘What sustains our courage to learn? Every small breakthrough along the way.’ — Amy Tsai, Corpus Learning Facilitator
Before planning your next stage of learning, take a moment to recall your past successful experiences, no matter how small they seem.
🌟 Why does it matter?
1️⃣ Boosts motivation: remembering success releases dopamine in the brain.
2️⃣ Builds confidence: reminds you that ‘I can somehow do this!’
3️⃣ Reveals your own strategies: helps you learn from your past self: ‘How did I make it happen?’
—————-
🏃 Example: Amy’s own journey with sports…
Since primary school, physical education was always my weakest subject.
I used to find every excuse to avoid relay races and in dodgeball, I’d volunteer to be the one picking up the ball instead of playing.
After graduating from high school and studying abroad in the UK, where PE wasn’t required, I even breathed a huge sigh of relief!
But over time, I was still able to notice small but meaningful success moments hidden in those experiences:
– I discovered I had stronger explosive power than stamina…in short-distance sprints, I wasn’t the last to finish.
– At Taipei First Girls’, one graduation requirement was to swim 100 metres using three different strokes. I was slow but finished it and still remembers the teacher’s continuous cheers from the poolside.
– In recent years, playing golf, I sometimes hit a perfect shot, earning genuine praise from my coach and teammates.
✨ By accumulating these small ‘highlight moments’, learning gradually becomes enjoyable and manageable.
And with every little step, we #moveclosertowards the desired goals.
‘Learning is the process of moving forward from what you already know and can do, towards what you hope to achieve.’ — Amy Tsai, Corpus Learning Facilitator

開始規劃學習前,不妨回想過去的成功經驗!
Kāishǐ guīhuà xuéxí qián, bùfáng huíxiǎng guòqù de chénggōng jīngyàn!
