Corpus takes its name from Cambridge University’s Corpus Christi college, alma mater of Corpus founder, Amy Tsai. Using techniques based on our founder’s experience at the University of Cambridge, Corpus has developed a fresh, innovative yet internationally renowned teaching methodology, delivering a unique, practical and fun educational experience.

Corpus Mandarin’s decision to establish a branch in Singapore is deeply rooted in the personal experiences and professional journey of our founder and director, Amy Tsai. Moreover, Amy’s exposure to the Singapore Ministry of Education’s primary curriculum during her time in London not only facilitated her students’ connection to Singaporean cultural heritage but also provided her with insights into the country’s history, values and lifestyle. With a solid academic background in linguistics from the UK and practical experience serving multinational companies with Singaporean roots, Amy recognised the opportunity to cater to the language learning needs of expat families and corporate leaders. Amy Tsai is an accomplished founder and chief consultant of Corpus Mandarin, a highly regarded Mandarin language consulting company operating successfully in both Singapore and Taiwan. With an impressive educational background, Amy holds an MPhil in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics from the prestigious University of Cambridge, where her research interests encompass comparative syntax, first and second language acquisition, and experimental phonetics. She also holds a BA in Linguistics from University College London, graduating with First Class Honours and nominated on the Dean’s List. Amy’s expertise extends to various language teaching qualifications, including the Cambridge CELTA/TEFL certification and TCSOL accreditation.
